Resurfacing is a quietly assertive abstract work that explores repetition, erosion, and the persistence of form. Built through layered gestures and restrained mark-making, the composition reveals looping graphite lines that appear to surface, recede, and re-emerge across a softly worked neutral ground. The surface bears evidence of process — brushed passages, faint erasures, and tonal shifts that suggest time, revision, and movement held in suspension. The palette is intentionally muted, allowing texture and line to carry the composition. Architectural in feeling yet intuitive in execution, the work sits comfortably between drawing and painting, where structure and improvisation coexist. Subtle asymmetries and overlapping arcs create a sense of spatial rhythm, inviting prolonged viewing rather than immediate resolution. Designed with interiors in mind, Resurfacing functions as a grounding, contemplative presence within a space. Its scale and tonal restraint make it particularly well suited for refined residential or commercial settings where materiality, balance, and quiet complexity are valued.
